On October 28, 2025 local time, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur. Li Qiang said that China and Malaysia are good neighbors and good partners who can trust each other. Last month, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a meeting in Beijing and reached new important common understandings on deepening the building of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future. China always regards Malaysia as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and is ready to work with Malaysia to maintain close high-level exchanges, enhance strategic coordination, deepen practical cooperation, and further implement the common understandings between the two sides to create more benefits for the two peoples. Li Qiang noted that last week, the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) deliberated over and adopted the recommendations for formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan. China is ready to work with Malaysia to strengthen the synergy between its 15th Five-Year Plan and the 13th Malaysia Plan, and deepen the implementation of the Five-Year Programme for Economic and Trade Cooperation between the two countries. The two sides should tighten the economic and trade bonds, tap the potential for cooperation in such frontier areas as the digital economy, artificial intelligence and new energy, and jointly cultivate and strengthen new growth drivers. Both sides should also expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation to cement the foundation of public support for the friendship between the two countries. China appreciates Malaysia's important role as the rotating chair of ASEAN and stands ready to work with all parties to implement the outcomes of the leaders' meetings on East Asian cooperation, injecting more stability and positive energy into regional peace and development. China is also ready to enhance multilateral coordination and cooperation with Malaysia to encourage all parties to work together to implement the four global initiatives, practice true multilateralism, and safeguard international fairness and justice. Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Malaysia-China relations are enjoying a strong momentum of growth, with frequent high-level exchanges, strong political mutual trust, and fruitful outcomes in cooperation. Malaysia is ready to further deepen cooperation with China in such areas as trade, investment, infrastructure, energy and mineral resources, and maintain the stability and smooth flow of industrial and supply chains. He welcomed more Chinese enterprises to continue their investments and business operations in Malaysia. Malaysia appreciates China's important role in regional and international affairs and thanks China for its strong support for Malaysia's rotating chairmanship of ASEAN. Malaysia is willing to work with China to further deepen the ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership and make greater contributions to peace and prosperity in the region and the world. |
