On September 2, 2025, Vice President Han Zheng met respectively in Beijing with Nepali Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli and Myanmar's Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, who are in China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025 and events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. During the meeting with K. P. Sharma Oli, Han Zheng stated that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli held a fruitful meeting, providing new strategic guidance for the development of China-Nepal relations. China is ready to work with Nepal to implement the important common understandings reached by leaders of the two countries, continue to advance the China-Nepal strategic cooperative partnership, and bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries. The Global Governance Initiative (GGI) proposed by President Xi Jinping is of great significance to promoting a more just and reasonable global governance system, and will surely receive broad support from the international community. K. P. Sharma Oli expressed gratitude to China for helping Nepal accelerate the realization of its national development vision, stating that Nepal firmly upholds the one-China policy, highly appreciates the GGI proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China, effectively implement Belt and Road cooperation projects, and promote the in-depth development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting with Min Aung Hlaing, Han Zheng stated that China and Myanmar are friendly neighbors. A few days ago, President Xi Jinping held a fruitful meeting with Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Myanmar to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of both countries, and further promote the sound and stable development of bilateral relations. President Xi Jinping put forward the GGI at the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus" Meeting, which is of great significance to reforming and improving the global governance system. Han Zheng expressed the belief that Myanmar will actively support and participate in the implementation of this important initiative. Min Aung Hlaing stated that Myanmar and China are connected by mountains and rivers, and expressed gratitude to China for its prompt assistance after Myanmar was hit by an earthquake.
