On 23 September 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Yang Yundong met with Marina Hadjimanolis, Shipping Deputy Minister of Cyprus.

Ambassador Yang said that China and Cyprus are highly complementary in the shipping sector and enjoy broad potential for cooperation. China stands ready to deepen cooperation with Cyprus in shipbuilding, green shipping and maritime services, strengthen communication and coordination within the framework of the International Maritime Organization, and promote more practical outcomes in bilateral maritime cooperation.

Deputy Minister Hadjimanolis welcomed Ambassador Yang and expressed Cyprus’ readiness to maintain close communication with China, further expand maritime cooperation and promote the common development of the shipping industries of the two countries.
