On 31 August 2026, Ambassador of China to Cyprus Yang Yundong met with Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Charalambos Petrides. 

Both sides agreed that the China-Cyprus relationship is solidly based and promising. It is important to further strengthen exchanges between the legislatures of the two countries, with a view to ensuring the sustained and sound growth of bilateral ties.
