On 28 August 2026, H.E. Yang Yundong, Ambassador of China to Cyprus, paid a call on Nicodemos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of Cyprus.

Ambassador Yang spoke highly of China–Cyprus cooperation in science, technology, innovation and the digital sector. He said that China attaches great importance to advancing scientific and technological exchanges between the two countries and stands ready to further expand practical cooperation with Cyprus in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and other fields.

Deputy Minister Damianou welcomed Ambassador Yang upon his assumption of office and expressed his readiness to actively promote further cooperation between Cyprus and China in science, technology, innovation and the digital sector.
