On July 30, 2026, Ambassador of China to Cyprus Yang Yundong paid a courtesy call on Minister of Interior of Cyprus Konstantinos Ioannou. The meeting was also attended by Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Interior Dr. Elikkos A. Elia. 

Both sides spoke positively of China-Cyprus relations and agreed to further strengthen justice and law enforcement cooperation, so as to create more favourable conditions for practical cooperation and exchanges between the two countries and interaction between the two peoples.
