On 21 July 2026, Ambassador of China to Cyprus Yang Yundong paid a courtesy call on Attorney General of Cyprus George Savvides.  

Ambassador Yang spoke highly of the China-Cyprus relationship and elaborated on China’s economic and social development. He said that judicial cooperation is a significant part of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership. The Chinese side attaches great importance to judicial cooperation with the Cypriot side, and stands ready to work with the latter to further deepen and enrich cooperation in this field. 

Attorney General Savvides congratulated Ambassador Yang on his assumption of the new post, expressed appreciation for China’s long-standing and steadfast support on the Cyprus problem, and expressed willingness to maintain sound judicial exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side.
