On April 21, 2026, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus Zhou Yunliang met with Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia George Nicolettos.

Chargé d’Affaires Zhou noted that subnational cooperation is an important component of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership. The Chinese side is ready to enhance substantive cooperation with Paralimni-Deryneia, so as to achieve win-win results.

Mayor Nicolettos commended China’s achievements in modernization, and expressed willingness to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with China, and contribute to the growth of China–Cyprus relations.
