On 24 November 2025, Ambassador Liu Yantao paid a farewell call on Theodora Constantinidou, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus.

Ambassador Liu expressed his gratitude to Permanent Secretary Constantinidou and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus for their positive contributions to the growth of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership, and stated that China is ready to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Cyprus to elevate bilateral relations to a new level.

Permanent Secretary Constantinidou highly recognized Ambassador Liu’s work during his tenure. She reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Cyprus and China, reiterated Cyprus’ consistent and clear stance on the Taiwan question, and expressed willingness to continue promoting Cyprus-China and EU-China relations.
