The China-Cyprus-Europe Media Forum is drawing to a close after in-depth exchanges and warm interactions. On behalf of the co-organizers, I would like to once again extend my heartfelt thanks to all distinguished guests who have come from afar, to all friends who have offered us great support, and to every staff member who has worked hard to make this Forum possible. Your insightful views, professional dedication, and selfless commitment have together illuminated this Forum with wisdom, friendship, and consensus for cooperation.

This Forum has been held at a most opportune moment, yielding fruitful results and carrying profound significance. Centered on the theme “Era of Great Transformation: A Shared Future for Humanity－Deepening Media Exchanges and Cooperation, and Jointly Shaping a Bright Future for China-Cyprus and China-Europe Relations”, we have engaged in a deep and meaningful dialogue.

Over the past two days, more than a hundred representatives from media organizations, governments, embassies, universities, think tanks, and enterprises from China, Cyprus, and other European countries have gathered together. We have deepened our understanding of the core responsibilities of the media, explored new possibilities driven by technology, and envisioned the vital role that media should play in the course of history.

Facing a complex and turbulent global landscape, we have reached a strong consensus on the value of a shared future for humanity, and strengthened our conviction to jointly tackle common challenges and create a better future together. We are delighted to see that participants have jointly issued the Declaration of the China-Cyprus-Europe Media Forum and reached multiple cooperation intentions. These consensus and outcomes embody your wisdom and sincerity, injecting new momentum into the future development of China-Cyprus and China-Europe relations. Congratulations!

In 2026, China and Cyprus will celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 5th anniversary of strategic partnership. Cyprus will also hold the rotating presidency of the European Union in the first half of next year. We look forward to further progress in China-Cyprus and China-Europe relations at this new historical starting point.

A healthy and stable bilateral relationship requires objective and fair media support from the two sides; meanwhile, the deepening of such relations will provide media with a broader stage and richer material for cooperation. In this regard, I would like to share with you three expectations:

First, be communicators of the Forum’s consensus. It is hoped that participants will make full use of your respective media platforms to widely and accurately spread the outcomes and consensus of this Forum, mobilize broader social support, and expand the resonance of our shared ideas.

Second, be promoters of follow-up cooperation. It is hoped that participants will act with a sense of urgency to transform the cooperation intentions expressed at the Forum into concrete plans and practical projects—turning consensus into action, and vision into reality.

Third, be carriers of the Forum’s spirit. It is hoped that participants will continue to carry forward the open, inclusive, and collaborative spirit advocated by this Forum, using the power of the media to foster mutual learning among civilizations and win–win cooperation, and contribute wisdom and strength to the progress of humanity.

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China is now being held in Beijing. Based on extensive consultation across all sectors nationwide, the session is formulating recommendations for China’s 15th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China has achieved high-quality growth in its economy and society. The formulation and implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan will lay a crucial foundation and inject new impetus for the basic realization of Chinese modernization by 2035. I invite you to follow the session closely.
