| Chinese Embassy in Cyprus and Pafos Municipality Celebrated the National Day of Both Countries |

On 27 September 2013, Chinese Embassy in Cyprus and Pafos Municipality held an event together celebrating the 64th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 53rd Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus, which happen to be on the same day.
H.E. Ambassador Liu Xinsheng made a speech, in which he extended greetings to all the guests and expressed his good wishes for the future development of China-Cyprus relations. Ambassador Liu also focused on the fact that more and more Chinese citizens choose Pafos as their favorite destination for tourism, study and property purchase, which brings new opportunities of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Mr. Savvas Vergas, Mayor of Pafos, offered his warmest congratulations and spoke highly of the cooperation between the Pafos Municipality and Chinese Embassy in Cyprus. He said that Pafos Municipality would do the utmost to assist the Chinese citizens who live in Pafos.
Around 250 guests attended the celebration, including the members of Council of Pafos Municipality, Mr. George Leptos and Mr. Theodoros Aristodemou, representatives of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Chinese and Cypriot dancing groups performed traditional dances of their own countries. The event was covered by several media organizations including PIK and MEGA.
