H.E. Ambassador Liu Xinsheng met with H.E. Mr. Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Cyprus on 17 September 2013. Mr. Wang Kuili, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy was present.
 The two sides exchanged views on the economic situation in Cyprus and bilateral economic and commercial cooperation, and discussed about ways to further enhance cooperation in the field of energy, investment and tourism between China and Cyprus.
